Very helpful information. My GP had no idea that steroid nasal sprays could raise eye pressure. Similarly, my ophthalmologist had no idea that Timolol could cause bronchospasm and severe coughing, which happened to me. Visual field index 96%, Mean Deviation -1.95db in cataracted eye; other eye -- pseudophakic -- normal perimetry report. CCT 510 in said eye and 520 in operated eye. IOP 15-17 range, normal ONH. 61 year old primary care physician based in Calcutta, India with family history of glaucoma (late mother), myopia (around -3 D), tension headaches but no other co-morbidities (fit, active, non-smoker, teetotaler, euglycemic). Should I go for an OCT right away? Expedite the pending cataract surgery? Repeat the automated perimetry now? Thanks and regards to Dr. Raniga.

I am taking vitamin b3 ( Nicotinamide ) after watching this video. I am 43 and lost most of my vision in both eyes due to glaucoma . I am taking the b3 almost a month . Please making another video for us regarding latest update and progress about the research. Thanks in advance Dr Flora Hui .

Lumigan gave me such migraines and kept me awake for over 24 hours. I know it was those drops that caused because the one night I forgot to put it in my eye I slept 11 hours straight and no headache then the next night I out it in and the headache came back within the hour and I stayed up all night again. Terrible drug.

Are you also aware that one of the lesser known side effects of Cholesterol lowering drug (STATINS) is an incidental increase in glaucoma!?

Important info: I had been taking nicotinamide since February 2022. When the results of this trial were published, I upped the dosage to 3g from 500mg, taking 3 am/3 pm although the times differed. whilst i noticed significant improvement in my vision it caused a big problem..... Continuing to take them, after 14-16 days I noticed I was struggling to pee. Then, I couldn’t pee at all- went to hospital and had to have a catheter fitted!!!! The doctors did not know what caused it, blood test was fine and no sign of a urine infection. They also couldn’t find any evidence it was related to nicotinamide!!!! So 2 months later, i started taking nicotinamide again. however i was more conscious on the timing, taking 2 am 2m lunchtime and 2 in the evening. Again, after 14-17 days, i struggled to pass urine without going into full retention- this continued for a full month. all tests have came back fine. i can only add that a 3g intake of nicotinamide caused a psychological problem where i felt the URGENT need to pass urine even though my bladder was virtually empty. I ended up causing trauma to my bladder where i have to pass urine several times a night- but at least im not straining to go now. my advice is don’t copy the trial until more information is released! I hope cera and dr hui can use this information and be alert for patients in their care! Bottom line- leave it to the experts!

I’ve reached end stage glaucoma in both eyes. I am experiencing optic nerve damage now. Of course I fear blindness, who wouldn’t? Giving up riding now.

I know from psychiatry researches (my field) that Pellagra causes Glaucoma even if you treat it fast because the brain function disturbed including optic nerves and eye muscles. All of that due to Niacin Deficiency. Almost 99% of Pellagra patients developed Glaucoma within 3 months.

Niacin (Nicotinic Acid) but make sure it is immediate release capsules to avoid liver issue hyperactive (rarely toxicity), overall it works great for eyes but it cause flush and don't take it on empty stomach, also Don’t go taking nicotinamide if you have Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia or kidney issue. Lastly take it with Vitamin C 500 x2 daily since Vitamin c lower intraocular pressure by 15% .

If you cannot consume nicotinamide, what other B3 form do you suggest?
